The Water Saver Landscape Contest has three goals.
To recognize and reward individuals for their time, trouble and expense
creating a residential landscape that uses less water.
To raise awareness among community members that water is a fragile
resource and conservation is important.
To demonstrate that landscapes requiring less water can be more than cactus and
rock gardens.
Front landscapes entered will be judged on how well five criteria have been implemented. Once the
judging phase of the contest is finished, members of the public are encouraged to view any or all
of the winning landscapes on a free, self-guided tour June 12 from 9 am to 1 pm. During that time,
gardening experts will be available at each location to answer landscape questions and discuss
water conservation techniques for landscapes.
Reduce the amount of water used in your landscape by incorporating
the following water saver principles.
